Through the power of music, Joe Sealy’s Juno Award winning album, “Africville Suite”, pays homage to one of the most misunderstood and forgotten cultures in the Maritimes – the citizens of Africville, Nova Scotia. The community and its dwellings ordered destroyed, and its residents evicted during the late 1960’s, Africville has become an important symbol of Canadian African identity and the struggle against racism.
