A native of Toronto, Doug Riley (1945-2007) was an integral part of the Canadian music community, as a composer, arranger and performer.

He performed with some of the most prolific artists in the classical, jazz and commercial music genres. He studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music with Oscar Peterson’s teacher, Paul De Marky, and graduated from the University of Toronto.

Doug Riley received innumerable international awards for recording and performance. As a composer and arranger, Mr. Riley worked with Placido Domingo, Ofra Harnoy, the National Ballet and Michael Burgess. As a performer, he worked on recordings with, to name a few: Ray Charles, David Clayton Thomas, The Brecker Brothers, Bob Seger, Ringo Starr, Gordon Lightfoot, Anne Murray and Moe Koffman.

Doug Riley won Jazz Organist of the Year continuously from 1993 to 2000 at the annual Jazz Report Awards. He was awarded the Order of Canada in the fall of 2004.

paul-joe-blue1 Joe Sealy & Paul Novotny have been music and business partners since the 80ʼs.  Their elegant sound is created with vivid tapestries of melody, deep bass lines, vigorous harmonies, strong rhythms and their own songs.  They are each an esteemed fixture of the Canadian jazz scene and have shared the concert stage at home and abroad.  At home they have performed at the  Halifax,  Montreal &  Toronto Jazz festivals with Michel Petrucciani,  Brad Meldau / Charlie Haden,  Red Mitchell/Herb Ellis and the Bobo Stenson Trio.   Abroad they have performed in Denmark, Norway and the USA.

They have recorded five records together and to date have two Juno nominations. Joeʼs “Africville Suite” won a Juno for Best Contemporary Jazz Album.
